Gestra is known worldwide for high-quality components in steam and condensate systems. As a valve manufacturer, we integrate these products into complete solutions – including valves, automation and documentation. Whether power plant construction, process steam or steam traps: we supply systems that increase your energy efficiency and enhance operational safety.
For efficient drainage of condensate in steam circuits.
Protection against backflow in sensitive processes.
For reliable filtration in steam and hot water pipes.
Complete solutions with position indicators, limit switches and MCR technology.
For high pressure, high temperature and ATEX areas.
Hygienic steam traps for CIP/SIP processes.
Strainers and condensate management for process steam.
Steam traps and check valves for steam systems and turbine circuits.
Components for hot water and heat recovery systems.
Integration into skid systems and automated systems.
Corrosion-resistant and insensitive to water hammer, with a strainer screen and an integral check valve.
The thermostatic traps range from PN 40 to PN 100, in ASME up to Class 3000.
The ball float traps UNA 14 to 46 work up to 32 bar and 300 °C.
Check valves RK 41 to RK 86 in wafer design, PN 6 and PN 16.
The thermostatic traps can be installed regardless of position.
Discharges the volumes of cold condensate at start-up that a trap alone cannot handle.
We trade in GESTRA valves and supply from the manufacturer range. The series listed below are a selection – we can source the complete GESTRA range, including series not listed here.
GESTRA covers the three common trap principles. Which one fits depends on the condensate quantity, the load behaviour and the pressure rating – not on the nominal size.
| Principle | Series | Characteristics |
| Thermostatic with bimetallic regulator | BK 15, BK 45, BK 28 | Thermovit duo-steel regulator, corrosion-resistant and insensitive to water hammer, with an internal strainer screen and an integral check valve; PN 40 and PN 100, Class 150, 300 and 3000; DN 15 to DN 50; installation in any position |
| Thermostatic with diaphragm regulator | MK 45 | PN 40, DN 15, up to 300 °C – compact and fast-responding |
| Ball float | UNA 14, UNA 16, UNA 45, UNA 46 | PN 25 to PN 40, Class 150 and 300, up to 32 bar and 300 °C – for large and strongly fluctuating condensate quantities |
Alongside these, the start-up and drain valve AK 45 in PN 40, Class 150 and 300, DN 15 to DN 20 for pressures up to 25 bar – it discharges the large volumes of cold condensate that arise during start-up and that a trap alone cannot handle.
The check valves of the RK series are wafer-type designs – they are clamped between two flanges and need no face-to-face length of their own. Available are RK 41, RK 44, RK 44S, RK 49, RK 70, RK 71, RK 76 and RK 86 in PN 6 and PN 16, nominal sizes from DN 15 to DN 200. The number distinguishes design and material; for an enquiry it is enough on its own.
From the range we also supply the diaphragm-controlled, spring-loaded pressure reducing valve type 5801 with a flanged connection and the Vaposcope flow sight glass VK 14 and VK 16 in PN 16 and PN 40, DN 15 to DN 50, with flange, threaded socket or weld socket.
As a rule we supply the GESTRA series version. Beyond that the following is possible with GESTRA – optional, not a precondition:
Yes – trap principle, pressure rating and connection standard can be selected; further connections available.
For energy, chemical, food and industrial plants.
Yes, we supply ready-to-install units including fittings, automation and documentation.
The starting point is your enquiry with medium, pressure and temperature. From this we size the appropriate Gestra version and agree the accessories and test scope with you.
Because of our high reliability, quality and specialization in steam and condensate technology – and our experience as a partner.
