Socla specializes in non-return valves and butterfly valves for water, HVAC and industrial systems. As a valve manufacturer, we combine Socla’s quality with our engineering expertise: we not only supply standard products, but also configure complete systems – including modification, automation and documentation.
For reliable backflow prevention in piping systems.
For reliable shut-off in water and HVAC applications.
For aggressive media, high temperatures and ATEX areas.
Pneumatic and electric actuators, limit switches and control components.
Customization and integration into existing systems – including ISO 5211 interfaces.
Hygienic designs for CIP/SIP processes.
Fittings for heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
Components for condensate and hot water circuits.
Check valves and butterfly valves for drinking water and circulation systems.
Series 418/408 in DN 50 to DN 350 with a flanged connection.
The ball is guided completely out of the flow path – full cross-section even with loaded media.
The flanged series 418/408 covers DN 50 to DN 350, face-to-face length to EN 558 series 48.
Betriebstemperaturbereich beider Baureihen, Seals in NBR.
The materials prevent deposits at the sealing seat – important with media containing lime.
The free cross-section is retained because the ball moves aside.
A back pressure of about 1 bar is required for noise-free operation – a question of sizing.
We trade in Socla valves and supply from the manufacturer range. The two series described below are the ones we supply most often – we can source the complete Socla range, including series not listed here.
In these series a freely moving, self-cleaning ball performs the shut-off. It is lifted by the flow and guided completely out of the flow path to the side. The result is a full cross-section even with loaded media – no risk of blockage, minimal pressure loss and low-noise operation.
| Series | Connection | Sealing | Materials | Temperature |
| 418 / 408 | flange, face-to-face length to EN 558 series 48 | tightness via the coating of the ball | ball in DN 50 to 100 in aluminium with NBR, in DN 125 to 350 in cast iron with NBR | −10 °C to +80 °C |
| 508 | thread | elastomer seal at the seat | seals in NBR | −10 °C to +80 °C |
The materials are non-scaling – an essential point with media containing lime or solids, because no deposits build up at the sealing seat.
The valves work in vertically rising and in horizontal pipework. In the horizontal position the ball housing must sit above the pipe axis so that the ball falls back into the seat under its own weight.
Second: a back pressure of about 1 bar is required for noise-free operation. Where this is absent, the ball can chatter in the seat and cause noise – that is not a malfunction but a question of sizing.
As a rule we supply the Socla series version. Beyond that the following is possible with Socla – optional, not a precondition:
Yes – coating, bolt pattern and connection type can be selected; further connections available.
For water, HVAC, energy, food and industrial systems.
Yes – on request we supply the valve pre-assembled with a shut-off valve and strainer.
The starting point is your enquiry with medium, pressure and temperature. From this we size the appropriate Socla version and agree the accessories and test scope with you.
Because of the high reliability, quality and specialization in non-return and shut-off technology – and our experience as a partner.
