Where Berluto pressure regulating valves are used

Mechanical & plant engineering

Constant outlet pressure in compressed air and nitrogen networks despite a fluctuating inlet pressure.

Chemicals & pharmaceuticals

The pressure-balanced series 6 needs low actuating forces even at a high inlet pressure.

Energy & power plants

Pressure maintenance in steam and hot water circuits up to 190 °C, without auxiliary power.

Water &
wastewater

The series 5 is a single-seat diaphragm valve in gunmetal with a flanged connection.

Food & beverages

The setpoint is matched to the operating point via interchangeable springs.

Automation
technology

Diaphragm-controlled and spring-loaded – neither power nor control air required.

Pressure ranges, materials and designs at Berluto

Inlet pressure compensation

Fluctuations in the inlet pressure do not carry through to the set outlet pressure.

Standards-compliant production

PED 2014/68/EU and AD2000 regulation HP0 for pressure equipment.
Valves for heating, steam and water applications in accordance with European standards.

Serie 6 druckentlastet

Low actuating forces even at high inlet pressure – for larger nominal sizes.

Gunmetal with flange

The series 5 is designed as a single-seat diaphragm valve in gunmetal with a flanged connection.

Up to 190 °C

Temperature versions of both series up to 190 °C.

Interchangeable spring

The setpoint range can be changed via interchangeable springs.

The Berluto range at Armaturenfabrik

We trade in Berluto pressure control valves and supply from the manufacturer range. The two series described below are the ones we supply most often – we can source the complete Berluto range, including series not listed here.

Pressure reducing valves with inlet pressure compensation

Both series are diaphragm-controlled single-seat diaphragm valves with inlet pressure compensation and a flanged connection. They regulate without auxiliary power – the diaphragm area works against the setpoint spring.

Inlet pressure compensation is the decisive feature: it ensures that fluctuations in the inlet pressure do not carry through to the set outlet pressure. Without it, the outlet pressure drifts as soon as the mains pressure changes.

SeriesDesignFeatures
Series 5single-seat diaphragm valve in gunmetal with flanged connectioninlet pressure compensation, setpoint ranges via interchangeable springs; operating pressures up to around 25 bar, temperature versions up to 190 °C
Series 6balanced single-seat diaphragm valve with flanged connectionadditionally pressure-balanced – the actuating forces stay low even at a higher inlet pressure, so larger nominal sizes and pressure differentials can be handled; temperature versions up to 190 °C

When balanced, when not

Series 5 is the economical choice at moderate inlet pressures and smaller nominal sizes. As soon as inlet pressure and nominal size increase, the actuating forces grow quadratically – then the pressure-balanced series 6 is the right design, because it handles considerably larger cross-sections with the same spring force.

For sizing we need three figures: inlet pressure, required outlet pressure and flow rate. From these follow the series, the nominal size and the spring range.

Optional: adaptations to Berluto valves

As a rule we supply Berluto products unchanged from the manufacturer range. Where the project requires it, the following can be added for Berluto:

  • setpoint spring to suit the operating point, also interchangeable later
  • series 5 or pressure-balanced series 6 according to inlet pressure and nominal size
  • material and diaphragm grade selected according to the medium
  • control valve pre-assembled with shut-off valve, pressure gauge and strainer

FAQs

Can Berluto valves be customized?

Yes – series, spring range and material can be selected; further connections available.

For water, energy, heating, steam and process systems as well as industrial applications.

Yes, we supply ready-to-install units including fittings, accessories and documentation.

The starting point is your enquiry with medium, pressure and temperature. From this we size the appropriate Berluto version and agree the accessories and test scope with you.

Because the inlet pressure compensation holds the outlet pressure even when the mains pressure fluctuates – and because of our many years of experience as a partner.
