Under the names PESCH, AMG and ABK the manufacturer offers complete solutions in actuation technology. Besides the part-turn actuators, the range also covers ball valves, plug valves, butterfly valves and special valves – so valve and actuator come from one source. The target sectors are the chemical industry and its adjacent fields, the food industry, energy and utility engineering, the water industry and international plant engineering.
The designation states the mode of action: SAF is single-acting with spring return, SAD double-acting. Single-acting means that the valve moves automatically to a defined position if the control air fails – the choice wherever a safe normal position is required. Double-acting delivers the higher torque for the same frame size.

Pneumatic part-turn actuators are frequently installed outdoors or in wet areas. A coated aluminium housing depends there on the integrity of its surface – one scratch during mounting is enough for corrosion to start. The stainless steel version avoids this risk and is therefore the more durable choice in the water industry and near the coast.
